You Don’t Have to Do It All You Know
One of the big things I see with busy mums who run a business is that they can have a problem with letting go of things – we have this notion that we should be able to do everything and be supermums!
Why we put this much pressure on ourselves I don’t know, but its something you need to get over quickly.
This is where we make use of delegation and build a support team. Who and what can you delegate to?
Cleaner – no explanation needed here!
As busy mums, we have so much ‘stuff’ to do for our family, never mind adding a business to the mix. Getting a cleaner may sound like a luxury but I say it is essential as it will free up a lot more time than you realise so you can get your business moving.
If you don’t want to get a cleaner, at least get somebody to do your ironing. I have a local lady come to collect and deliver mine every two weeks. I know exactly when she is coming so that everything is ready for her.
A virtual assistant (VA) is a self-employed professional providing administrative, secretarial and creative services on a remote basis. Working from their own fully equipped offices, VA’s work with a variety of different clients helping them in their businesses on an ad hoc, regular or individual project basis.
Outsource your routine administration so that you can focus on product creation and marketing activities to build your business.
Partner & Family Support
When building any support team, its important to also include your partner and family as they should be your biggest cheerleaders and can help out when you need them.
Older kids could get involved with helping you to run your business, I’m sure you could come up with some simple jobs they could be doing.
These are just some simple ideas but start small and build up your team as you go – it will be one of the best decisions you make.
